Preparation / Ingredients

sodium bicarbonate can be a good subsitute for baking powder in recipes with sour milk, honey, yogurt and chocolate: add half a teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate in each cup of the above ingredients.

Add a pinch of sodium bicarbonate to your icing to retain the icing’s moisture and prevent cracking.

A pinch of sodium bicarbonate to the chocolate cake will make it darker.
