Podravka d.d. and Ital-Ice d.o.o. sign an agreement on the acquisition of shares
On Thursday 11 April 2002 in Poreč, an agreement was signed by which Podravka d.d. took over Ital-Ice d.o.o., a company with its headquarters in Poreč. The agreement was signed by Aldo Knapić, the founder and owner of Ital-Ice d.o.o. and Darko Marinac, President of the Management Board of Podravka d.d.

Business results of the Podravka group for 2001
The Supervisory Board of Podravka d.d. confirmed the business results of the Podravka group for 2001 at a meeting held on Monday 8 April 2002. The Podravka Group had a successful year, with a net profit of 62 million kuna.

The Podravka meat industry begins production in the “Srem Šid” company in the town of Šid
The production of Podravka goulash, minced meat and meat stew began yesterday in "Srem Šid", a plant for the production of meat in the town of Šid. The Šid meat company will supply the necessary raw materials and production facilities necessary to produce Podravka meat products, while Podravka technicians from Koprivnica will be in charge of compliance with Podravka standards.

A new bottling line for drinks opens in the Studenac factory in Lipik
On 2 March 2002, a new bottling line began operating in the Studenac factory in Lipik. The President of the Republic of Croatia, Stjepan Mesić, attended the opening ceremony. The new line is only one part of Podravka's planned investment in the Studenac factory. In the next two years, Podravka plans to invest another 100 million kuna in the drinks programme.

Consent from the Podravka d.d. Supervisory Board for the issuing of commercial papers
The issue of commercial papers will allow for the establishment and expansion of the base of investors, the diversification of sources of financing, and a shift from traditional banking credit lines, as well as lower costs of financing. This will mean flexibility of financing and an active presence on the money and capital markets.

A delegation from the Embassy of FR Yugoslavia in Podravka
The ambassador of FR Yugoslavia in the Republic of Croatia, Milan Simurdić, and his associates have just visited Podravka. Darko Marinac, the President of the Podravka Management Board, and Damir Polančec, member of the Podravka Management Board, welcomed the Yugoslav Ambassador and his closest associates. The topic raised at the meeting was the business of Podravka on the market of FR Yugoslavia, as well as the possibilities for the broadening of co-operation.

A contract signed between Adria d.d and Podravka
A contract has been concluded in Koprivnica between Adria d.d. - specialising in the catching, processing and selling of fish, and Poni Trgovina d.o.o., which, from 1 January 2002, gives Podravka the position of exclusive distributor for Croatia of a range of tinned fish products by Adria d.d. The contract was signed by the President of Adria's Supervisory Board, Miodrag Lacić, the President of the Management Board of Adria d.d., Neven Lacić, and Mladenko Frleta, director of Poni Trgovina d.o.o.

At today's 24th Supervisory Board meeting, the Management Board of Podravka d.d. put forward a business plan for 2002, which was approved by the company's Supervisory Board.

Accredited management system certification for quality
From 26 to 27 November 2001, Det Norske Veritas completed the certification audit of Podravka's quality management system and issued a certificate confirming that all the requests of ISO 9001: 2000 have been met.
