53rd Fancy Food Show, an exhibition of delicacy and ethnic products, was held in New York between 8 to 10 July. More than 2 300 exhibitors from USA and 72 countries from abroad displayed their products at the Show.
The fair is not open to the public, but is being visited by the representatives of the food industry, mostly owners and managers of commercial chains, distributors and brokers who were more than 20 000. Podravka’s products were represented on stands of our American partners, Grand Prix Trading Corp. headquartered in New York, IndoEuropean Foods Inc. headquartered in Los Angeles and Square Enterprises headquartered in New Jersey. Next to Vegeta, Podravka’s partners also exhibited Podravka’s meat products, soups, condiments and fant special food seasonings. Representatives of Pathmark supermarket chain recently listed Vegeta among their assortment, and used this opportunity to discuss planned marketing activities, while with Wall Mart representatives business negotiations were started regarding listing Vegeta into their supermarkets at the West Coast. DPI, one of the three largest distributors of delicacy and ethnic products, was additionally interested in soup program, since it is just developing ethnic program for Safeway national supermarket chain, where they plan to include a certain number of Podravka soups.
